January 7, Bangkok, Thailand – Actor Wang Xing recounted his harrowing experience of being deceived and trafficked while aboard a flight to Bangkok. Sharing details of his ordeal, Wang described how he was lured to the Thailand-Myanmar border under the guise of attending an audition, which turned out to be a sinister ploy. Wang revealed that his previous experience auditioning in Thailand around 2018 made him believe this was another legitimate opportunity. However, upon arrival in Myanmar, he realized the horrifying truth.

Life at the Trafficking Hub
At the trafficking center in Myanmar, Wang was forced to undergo intense training, which included practicing typing for 2-3 days. He described being in a high-pressure environment with insufficient food, no time for restroom breaks, and an inability to sleep. The training primarily focused on text-based scams, with no instruction for verbal or telephone-based interactions.

According to Thai media reports, Wang was held at a location in Myawaddy's drainage valley. During the rescue operation, local ethnic groups collaborated with authorities to secure his release.

Thai Police Confirm Trafficking Case
On January 8, Thai National Police General Tatchai confirmed that Wang Xing was a victim of human trafficking. Authorities plan to repatriate him to China within 1-2 days. Speaking to the media, Tatchai explained that Wang had been deceived into traveling to Thailand for an audition, only to be trafficked across the border into Myanmar.

Thai officials assured that Wang is being protected and cared for. Once arrangements with the Chinese Embassy and his family are complete, he will return to China.

January 10, Beijing – Chinese actor Wang Xing has safely returned home after being rescued from a human trafficking syndicate in Myanmar. His return marks the conclusion of a harrowing ordeal that began when he was lured abroad under the guise of a legitimate work opportunity. Upon his arrival in China, Wang Xing expressed gratitude to the Thai police, the Chinese Embassy in Thailand, and all those who worked tirelessly to secure his release. His family and girlfriend were present at the airport to welcome him, visibly emotional as they reunited.

The Mastermind Behind the Operation
Reports from Malaysian media indicate that the mastermind behind Wang’s kidnapping, known as "Golden Tiger," has been apprehended. The suspect, a Guangdong native referred to as "Chief Yu," was operating through the "Apollo Glory" compound, one of the largest labor intermediaries in the region. The company was reportedly involved in multiple illegal activities.

During Wang’s captivity, a subordinate of the mastermind, Jin Can, was responsible for carrying out the abduction and made three phone calls during the process. Jin Can has also been detained.

In interviews with Thai media, Wang revealed that he was misled into believing he was traveling to Thailand for work and eventually to a third country for filming. Instead, he was forcibly taken to Myanmar. He described being confined in a building with 50 other Chinese nationals, while another building housed people from various countries. He also disclosed that captives were required to shave their heads.

Wang expressed fear that if not rescued, he might have been forced to scam his fellow Chinese citizens. Luckily, he did not suffer physical harm. Concerning public speculation about marks on his left leg, authorities clarified that they were birthmarks.

Rescue Operation Details
The rescue mission targeted two locations, freeing 10 Chinese nationals from one and 50 from another, where Wang was found. While physically unharmed, Wang appeared exhausted from the ordeal. His girlfriend has since reunited with him in Bangkok, sharing a heartfelt photo of their clasped hands online with the message, "Love can fight everything."

A Wake-Up Call
The successful rescue of Wang Xing serves as a poignant reminder of the dangers of human trafficking and the sophisticated methods used by criminal syndicates. It underscores the importance of international cooperation in combating such heinous crimes and ensuring justice for the victims.
